Be a Guest on The Outliners Writing Podcast

Hey! I’m Jim Hodgson and I’m looking for guests for my writing podcast The Outliners.

If you’re a fiction writer of any kind–novels, TV writers, screenwriters, editors–let’s do this. All you have to do is either send me an email or fill out the Google form. Can’t wait to hear from you.

Jim, why does your writing podcast kick so much ass?

My writing podcast is the best because creating the outline together gives us a direction and saves us from being two people just blathering about our “process.” We’ll start with us talking about you and your work for 5-10 minutes or so, then we work through a novel outline on the spot using a prompt from a previous guest.

We’ll also laugh. A lot. Silliness encouraged.

Here’s the episode I recorded with bestselling author Scott Meyer, known for his comic Basic Instructions, his Magic 2.0 book series e.g. “Off To Be The Wizard,” and other books like my personal fave “The Authorities.”

As you can see, it’s a kick-ass writing podcast. Granted, in this case, Scott’s also a kick-ass guest, but you will be too. Just shoot me an email or fill out the Google form here to get rolling.

Having doubts? Stop that shit.

I have a lot of performance experience and I’ve done a bunch of these now, so if you’re thinking “Hm, I’m not sure if I can do that” don’t. I will keep it fun and moving along. Every guest I have had starts out a little hesitant, then gets rolling, and ends up going “Wow, that was great!”

I will share it with my mailing list and all social media. I’m not saying you’ll get the Oprah bump from this but it doesn’t cost anything and it’s a fun hangout between authors. If you want to share it around too, you can. Or not. Your choice.

I usually do Skype but I can also do Hangouts, or regular phone if you’re in the US. You need a microphone of some kind, but no camera. Your phone headphones/mic will probably work.

Like I said you can either email me or fill out the Google form here. Can’t wait to hear from you. Thanks!
